WALNUT CREEK — Although a new, private parking garage at the Walnut Creek BART station isn’t slated to open until early 2019, don’t count on getting a spot at the often-crowded station — the monthly spaces are already sold out.

After the garage opens some time in early 2019 — representatives did not cite a specific date — two station parking lots will permanently close to make way for the future development, and about 600 of the daily fee parking spaces from the existing BART-owned garage and the north parking lot will be converted to monthly spaces in the new garage. As a result, daily parking for those without a monthly pass will be limited.
